STATUTORY MATERNITY PAY (SMP)

SMP is paid for 39 weeks (26 weeks for babies who were due up to and including March 31st 2007)
First six weeks: 90 percent of the employee's average weekly earnings, with no upper limit
Remaining weeks: £112.75 (£108.85 for due dates up to and including March 31st 2007) or 90 percent of average weekly earnings,whichever is less (subject to certain conditions)
